White Box Chatter Noise

White Box Chatter Noise

Here I consider the underlying principles for the linguistics of ideograms for words or notions as a stage in language development and part of a natural physical process.

In a sense it is a form of white box (similar to Chinese box arguments or the cave of Plato) opposite to the methods of black box, perhaps white and black holes.

Sometime in the early 70's I made a series of small clay sculptures which were of some symbolic things used over and over in my drawings from as a kid. I do not recall some of them but have a list somewhere. I then dipped them in paraffin so the would not smash so easily and challenged the street people to play and help me figure out the game when they wondered what I was doing arranging them in a triangle. I told them to put them in order and a few tried and debated lively as to who was right about the order and why. I did not tell them that I had no idea myself as to what the order should be, if one it unique, or none at all.

Of course knowing a little more about the universe than I did then I would be very aware of making a new set of these sculptures and it can be overly coherent from the arts and craft sense or technical (technium- the desires of objective technology I coin the word noetium- for the subjective reduction to a neutral stance of reason without purpose and desire beyond the mechanical. To this symbolic concept, a more concrete theorem suggested to follow, I coin the terms subjecticity and objecticity.)

Interestingly, from a more balanced view of what the brain and intelligence is in that Cambridge test on newscientist- This concerns the geometry and order of things even the ground of it is geometrical without an explicit alphanumerics. Yet one test was like the television game of Concentration - matching pictures of objects.

I can imagine a form of cognitive therapy for say autism in which knowledge of these ideas of space and geometry in communication could diagnose perhaps cure where it involved more of a talk theory. A measurement that desires the reduction of the subjecticity for objecticity yet one that can maximize the needed subjective growth of the patient. Culturally (as opposed to our immersion in our valued science) we are concerned with the content and not the technical mechanism such as on line games or other electronic media ability and how these may affect the mind of the young players for good or ill.

This is a sort of linguistic or geometric instructional information as a notion just like a higher or covering over-genome on the DNA. We have a free use of labeling from outside the comparisons to find proper weights in the sub-flow of living and growing. These perhaps the on and off of genes as in methylation (an idea I was introduced to early on by research in Marshfield clinic in the 90's) Thus we have a consciousness like accentuation as well as concrete comparisons. In effect we can see the genome as containing two kinds of information.

But the subjecticity and objecticity are not always equal in the regions of spacetime for the laws in an abstract multiverse and continua may vary- hidden or overt (the fourth step or war of the cosmic hierarchy as Ultranscontinuum in my old terminology). But like the flat carvings of ideograms to represent words as sounds or actual pictures of object and these compounded together the units are as if a universe in the compass of depth and span. It is only natural that one result of such a limited part of all of the words can become a set of magical runes or ultimately a basis for a phonetician style alphabet.

I note that the methylation has been lately suggested as a sort of inheritence from the parents in the womb for such things as schizophrenia.

The notion of things different in space of so far away from some center or present is also that notion as if in another time so far away from one's self and life. With some imagination we can emphasize and have a sense of the measure of involvement and quality of life and soul in ourselves and others.

Chatter Noise are the independent parts that include the idea of white noise or if you will pink noise (the old difference as constant of the harmonic and log numbers).

Chatter there for this is a linguistic thing and four root words or notions in a sense are equal in the singular and can be permutations and combination's to establish on a meaning level (also a measure of the entropy regarding information)
Chatter Box an idiom for one talking too much. (hence the "star"-lings on the telephone pole in the illustration above).

* * *

I am not sure I made it clear that the permutation and order of things in natural and quasic space from a subjective and objective real and virtual perspective is the key to how we relate to the science and culture of our first primitive design of alphanumeric systems. In a sense this is the copenhaguen interpretation on steroids or the opposite of it so.

I note an article today on a dead "quasar" that lit up a nearby cloud. Here a disconnect in black hole and light matter- creative subjectivity and objective science for galaxy formation- also ns water on earth from beginning (creation field hypothesis along the lines of Hoyle)

Ulla if you read this Rowlands says the constant was exactly 1/128 and did you see my recent post on this issue of constants- a great post on it btw- maybe, even with out a quasic view we can program things of the dimensionless- give a try maybe to Euler's constant as perhaps the harmonic and log difference and these numbers.

Through the Faraway Pipe

Through the Faraway Pipe (Kepler and the Tri-cornered Hat) L. Edgar Otto 11-06-10

We gaze into the shiny brass pipe held to the sky but its walls are not blackened. What we see are rings of light, a pulse, a wave, some note of some wind with overtones through an organ.

Is it really absurd, the young man opposed to global warming, that heat can arise from the nothingness? How then its it that we find the surface of black holes the return of ideas of heat again when there seems no such chemical notion in the particles of the microworld? In this last century dominated by Jewish science we still debate the static role of the concept of God the Creator. Thus science has become blind to further progress not contained of any hint of such a transcendent being and cry blasphemy to those who would look within these eaters of entropy.

Even when things move in such an indefinite space and not beyond the simplicity of time and a sphere- a falling favoring gravity and not the eye of God, the assumption by Descartes and Holy Newton that a God somehow sets the spheres in motion that the world can be known and make sense and in the spirit of ancient Hellas its depths seen. Even then in such turns and twists of motion the interval closes on itself, the flame in the tent a flower as if universes falling as anchor rings from an anchor ring- that we are even in the vanished desert beyond the body or soul of a specially centered tribal God who intercedes or walks away from his call for motion.

Yet from a secular view the issue in our generation seems to be the debate as to what of space and geometry itself trumps some ideas of the physics of things- especially the quantum and string theories. Certainly, Feynman in his notation understood the depths of such geometry as at least background more than just numbers as the powers of two in his diagrams.

That the model of the solar system as if an atom has haunting similarities to which physics has to progress more as if it is an analogy to a nucleus of an atom. Thus we have the other sorts of quantum theories. For those who doubt the face and limits of geometry as primary, even of fixed hidden dimensions, that part of Kepler where he surrounded the orbits of the planets with the Platonic solids also makes little sense and that much of Kepler's work thought mystical and not properly scientific. Certainly Tycho Brae with his detail contributed as Kepler unto Newton, but who agrees with him the earth the center and all other planets go around the sun? That is not a bad compromise when you really try to sort out background of relative motion- a matter of taste really. This is not to say what the observed facts can show us about what is a local or general laws in the universe- whom or not is specially created - and yet is the analog to the surface sea of the earth not to the higher sphere of Einstein's finite but boundless universe? Or if we choose have to deal with the hyperbolic of growth beyond the universe now known a flatland? It is absurd for only the young students of science the old saw- they thought the earth flat once or for the mystical who usurp even the idea our earth is hollow in some sense. Science strives for unbiased wisdom and asks as a second philosophy the why of things if anyone knows to ask, question hidden depths yet weigh them in reality.

Consider then the universe made of time's clear waters of light from the foundry of creation, the optics as if virtually infinity in a room of walls and ceiling, even the floor made of mirrors (Einstein considered such motions in spheres of space as if the rules of starlight shift were different in the depths of the sun itself.) What would we see in the million copies of the candle light if it the center it were moving? (and this simple model and physical experiment just begins to describe the depths of quasic space). Certainly some sort of up and down and yet the candlestick in free fall may point every way toward this in the natural depths and span of dimensions.

Also there is a certain idea of freedom here in the motion, the Heraclitean perpetual motion that too an extreme of comprehension applied to spacetime. For we do not have rigid solids alone and explicit forms of laws but some leeway in the accidental history of planet creation and formation as cloudy gas and frozen matter. That is we have a variety of solar systems and that variety has differences as well as universal similarities, especially of the elements of which they are made.

Yet, those who would scoff as such an older view how do you explain Bode's law- some intelligible artifact and coincidence of arithmetic? Which products of genius are you free to pick an choose?

This is not to say we can encase the solar system in only the hyperspheres and the rings around the planets and the asteroid belts- the planets 8 created in pairs. (I have not looked at this concept for two score years and there is a lot more known for even more in the idea of higher dimensions.) But he who divined the need for solid space to come closer in the calculations, and saw the beauty of the golden dice (after all the golden ratio is the key distance in four space) who made the step of his planetary motion ellipse laws- also saw the beauty and science in the symmetry of the tri-cornered snowflake- unlimited and recurrent yet different in the detail in time while the will and force of life needs not be closed only nor dissipate into the almost living technium applied of evolution. To refine such a theory if the paths are shown still open is to understand not just the interference rings thru our pipe dreams made of refined shinny brass- but depths beyond our present ken in the heart of stars and atoms themselves for an even greater unity we may find and even design in our physics.

* * * Also this poem from last night some things on my mind- nothing really deep otherwise in the physics and philosophy. This one has parallels to the state of our economy current world politics and that military era in Brazil after 1964.

If you long English speakers desire, I would like to know how well this poem out of the blue is understood- both the words and references. Any idea what it may be about?

My Socialist Sweetheart L. Edgar Otto

Why did I love Mary?

What did I see in her?

Why did I throw red pain with her

On the ladies at the ball wearing fox fur?

We danced all night in the perish of St. Paul

Sang homesick hymns to the poor in Portugal

What a thrill we dancing goats, dosidos, Virginia reels

Drinking Star-reals on the ha'penny playing sheav-groats'

Housewives in the coffee war with Brazil

Those ninny's not getting any with breakfast in high heels

After dreams of fallout and the Argentine umbrella

Shame them into human rights national and nuclear

Priests and generals skipping ranks, Obama's sambas

I some Garibaldi and his shadow tanks, her vigilante cowboys in Amazonas.

* * *

Of course my point has been that the geometric and the ideas of algebraic motion in all its fundamental forms, and even the sub-branches of math and physics such as that we learn from fractal patterns in chaoscience- even the notions of probability, all contribute to part of the picture of what we can see, can imagine intelligibly (and make no mistake quantum theory is quite intelligible) for our presently paradoxical desire for the omnium or a theory of everything, vaguely sensed as if even the old religious metaphor in various theoreticians on the frontier of enquiry.

A non-necessity view as part of reality, the possibility of creative and original discovery, has at its heart what seems a contradiction- the necessary in it is not forbidden. The frontier is the indistinguishable to which our distinctions and indiscernible may in a wider generalization be discernible and distinguishable- but the way to do this in the perplexities of time is not always shown the only theory that achieves intelligibility.

Einstein was said to remark that economics was harder than physics. Certainly s in our day the issue has defied methods of analyzes and it is not clear in the theories offered as to why. We seem to deal with politics and economics in the ways of the last century and the delay of such general growth of wealth in new third world regions seems to rely [birds] on ideology refined and applied- for example the military order of Brazil from 64 to 85 and now the fourth largest economic power returned to democracy. Is it inevitable in hard times with faith in some ideas as to what our collective and individual lives ought to be- that these are but a cycle that limits us in the motion, a finite thing of wealth and lifespan that tends to understand things by the otherworldly or react against the fear of lawlessness? Our philosophy's and religious metaphors apply and as core values it is the immersion in them that holds us back to cures and solutions and peaceful abundance restrained only by the intelligibility of sensible growth and order. Or we can know our place in a finite and boundless conception of the universe which tries in the world of motion up from Zeno's paradox and the Platonic sphere to find the wave again returned amplified or vanished in the pendulum others the Russian dolls in dolls or state boundaries regardless if economics is better ruled yet feeds the need for a republic of united national security states. That left to their own the poor or the leaders know their place and life the common denominator a tool this time around to force trade and compromise with vigilante for good or ill and in stealth the wealth and plans of the state their paper gold and rumors made in terror.

There are other metaphors for the grounding of physics, metaphysics, and stereonometry between our species full of wisdom. From the linguistic view part of the resolution and conflict- the change from a living to the skeleton of a root word so transcended if compound in the plural, an added affix such as "s" for the plural be it our conception of many gods or one to worship, one universe or many, e pluribus unum...The Hindu and the Buddhists, and Tao.

From time to time I look at the birds in fight and flights in freedom. I wonder what they are on-about, why other than the basal core of instinct they stay on their level, branes in limitations, unaware of the general climate, songs and squabbles as if each their separate race greater for the conflict, the vanished imperialists and Empires far from noticing the fiefs, Newton and Leibniz over priority in discoveries that is the game if science survives the election to serve all the people. Freedom perhaps the hardest thing as to what to do- for the city is there, an empty thing really without its denizens and age spots of invasive species, in its desert the great adapting of the feral cats and rats and roaches, pigeons and sparrows, hiding unseen from the authorities in the main and with numbers, street scavengers perchance to seek warmth under the castles of Wall Street in the snowy winter above the exhaust grates of the subway, or the ubiquitous oil drums for the roasting of pigeons.

We walk and have a role in the awakening of the city at dawn and make legitimate our choices, who cares who has who or helps who as long as we are left alone to live and let live- feel like strangers in the glaring light of remote hallways that detours us by its brightness as if anyone cares we pass as students, wash ourselves in the university libraries but never sleep in public if we don't want attention or have our jackets pilfered. I look down from the skyscraper and the cars that really seem to go back and forth to nowhere, renewable the corn and cane sugar. Or the people walk at night to the play and water holes and football amphitheaters- it is a whole different city and one finds a niche, one finds a fashion, one lives long enough to break all laws save that the shouting buildings spawn and charges toll and woe to he who does not keep walking free to do so unencumbered on its sidewalks.

Patience is too costly and violence costs it all- but I have waited and not all things have come to me- nor the simple reaching out to find them. I have not failed at freedom although its dice loaded that I fail in responsibility or pass that failure on. I have learned as well although time is never of the essence and one should not fret over what is past more than the now and future- that I am wounded in the faith that on some road to someplace that may as well be in outer space that eventually a ride will come along as I offer my thumb. If it does not come I am comforted at what's the point, October 1st too late, the vanishing of sanity shown up behind their bureaucratic and so not fearful masks- of their value and even veto.

Yet I am far above resentment as I stand with myself- even knowing the bastards know me wall that I would opt to walk away as much revenge, monk shunning violence- even while my tormentors in the street consume without punishment the state and get away with murder.

Linglinguistics and Uncertainty in Creative Consciousness

Linglinguistics and Uncertainty in Creative Consciousness L. Edgar Otto 11-04-10 11-05-10

And an idea continued on another page:

*If we do not comprehend mathematical structures and formulae as mechanisms, we will not comprehend others even if they state simple yet intelligible things.

*The Euler number (constant) as natural positive and quasic space, that difference between harmonic and logarithmic growth perhaps such a Zeno constant concept which tends to negligibility at great scales.

*Just as from some view we can imagine any sequence if we look long enough for it in some arbitrary code- of meaning (such tendency to see shapes for example in the developing cognition of children- see science mags recently) We can impose upon the sparsity that endure of letters and numbers geometric models and representations if we so look for them. As such all the intelligibility tells us is that there is this intelligibility- a fundamentalist idea as much as modernism of metaphorical view unto the malleable nature of a ground freedom and relativity of perception and consciousness- that in a sense tells us nothing like anthropocentric climate science without a more general, perhaps beyond the post-modernist and religious mind set of the last century's view of philosophies of science.

Matti

Keep up the good work.

I tried to relate things to this article too- but of course our views are not surprised by this sort of new physics as geometrical thinking.

I was surprised when I say your other link that you also had worked in applications to genetics. I thought your remark on the Copenhagen interpretation insightful and right on and certainly scientific!

As I commented to Ulla - you are a great poet too!

The Basal Continuum (Bcm)

The Basal Continuum (Bcm) L. Edgar Otto 11-04-10

I wish to emphasize what I have said all along, that it may relate to the various speculations that are showing up in the popular literature, science magazines, and the blogo-sphere or forums.

I called the metaphysical idea the Fundamental Theorem which tries to resolve that fact that things can change yet remain the same. After these last musings regarding the foundations of language, I add another part of that theorem called the Basic Theorem. From a linguistic viewpoint at the turn of the last century both words were intrusive and used in English to give a sense of the discourse as scientific. However, as basic in this sense is more a biological concept- the field in which this idea applies I call the Basal continuum. It is the same issue of the complex hierarchy of nature and equations our notions are grappling with and struggling to awaken in various metaphors new or established for the grounding of physics- especially the ideas involving opaque or dark things, higher dimensions, and the state of our ideas of particle theory.

For example- the idea of a sterile neutrino as a fourth generation particle. Such a thing for me (in our vague metaphorical generalities) is the beginning in at least four space of such a fundamental theory. This in my recent terminology relates to the idea of fundamental and basic symmetry (symmetrai) ideas as the idea of balance or irreversibility of at least our local universe in terms of equations.

Another example would be the idea of a cosmic censor that forbids by declaration in regions not accessible of the decay at infinity of things like black holes such that the problems of initial and final states by nature are never realized so not a problem.

A few corresponding theories partially and independently describe, at least locally, the idea of a direction or arrow in time with both theorems due to complexity, for example decoherence and entropy or the various concepts of symmetry issues and thermodynamics.

In some sense the hyper-complex numbers and the values of mass from some supposed central place of symmetry may tell us the same thing to the extent the imaginary formalism and is mechanisms works out mathematically. From the general view we can imagine we have a sea of point singularities of which on the basal level space not only can appear to be in its infinitesimal instability to be expanding in a preferred matter and anti-matter direction (a result you can see in my approach to these problems as something fundamental about space where it acts as if all values real and positive concerning motion is not surprise to me nor that others now have been considering it). For this is a little better explanation of the asymmetry than what we have vaguely and in some detail of particle decay have considered before.

From the quasic or even the holonic view at any point we have to consider which is the depth and which the span and their mirrors in the intelligibility of such dark flow concepts. Of course one or the other may be zero or sterile, the other active.

The idea of "sterile" neutrinos I find a colorful and fortunate name, for as a basal principle given a creative field we can certainly interpret them as "fertile". Indeed, there is some evidence of opaque or dark things generating light matter.

The basal idea is required to begin to comprehend the questions of the origin of life and the restraints on evolution of which much reductionist progress has been made and the progress for a wider physics of the genome is getting acknowledgment.

But from the philosophic view this is about motion in the traditional sense- in particular the as yet not truly resolved idea of the Zeno paradox (which requires a little more than the explanation by the calculus). There is a sort of analog to the motion laws of Newton for inertia- Once a certain (basal) distance, that is once an item is "created" from zero there is a certain constant distance that stays the same between two events or objects- beyond null this of course is linked to the notions of expansion, energy, and so on where such space things can grow or change. It is basal in the cosmology sense in that between these established great than point regions the F&B Theorems are generally transitive across all natural and quasic dimensions. Once created an entity tends to stay created, once temporal tends to stay temporal whether beyond all this outside forces may change things or not but certainly these can be changed on some level of the forces inside the universe so to speak. The Zeno paradox describes linearly the symmetry of an existential point as if it were only the instant in a quantum model as a basal phenomenon, and thus the idea of what has to be grounded non-classically as some minimum of action or region for space and so on. If the quarks are asymptotically free for example of what structure are they free from? Is that not a notion like the "end or wall of the universe" some ask at the beginning of learning cosmology? Can they not from a substance view evolve and be in a state of both situations- and can moreover there not be in the standard theory revised a better understanding of gravity- one that goes beyond the quaint ideas of even n-brane theory?

It is also no surprise to me the statements lately that we are dealing with a fourth generation of things like particles for that is precisely described by the quasic informational notation including the paradoxes it may suggest where are theories are biased toward certain concepts of interpretation.

This sort of thinking suggests to me also the problem of consciousness is a much deeper one than some interpretation of quantum theory. That part of the fundamental theorem does seem better grounded as does the symmetrical description of quantum theory as material and reductionist.

* * *

I now post a poem influenced by rigid dialog with various religious people around me on line and in the coffee shop- I do intend it as optimistic. I have not decided how good it is as a poem nor how deep it might be in ideas as they are expressed nor how the cultural references will be recognized or valued in time and places.'

The Soul that Died
L. Edgar Otto 11-04-10

The soul can die in the here and now
if we think it can in some beyond

All vague and mysterious unknowns we young
in restrained awakening make struggle

In the shifting climate the zombies
eat my brain, the vampires suck my blood

You cannot win, lone wolves worn down
by the two parties, Hell's Angels and Outlaws

You reinvent yourselves in cycles, each second
accelerating one way expansion multiverse

Ride both the bottomless descent and sky-less ascent
the opaque sterile particles in and at creation fertile

You cannot reason with the faithless, their
superstition devils, nor with the faithful robot phalanx.

In my balloondroggle posting I should make explicit in terms of epiphany or moments of rise to clarity if our heads can stay above water where we become aware again of changes of which we forgot or were not aware of at the time- a looking back really at some place or time or event as if the rising in that language of the metaphor of balloons of hierarchical meaning where we connect with the parallels of our moods and self- these are especially useful in noting our mental paradoxes of our core beliefs such as for religious concepts and our reactions to them. But it remains to be worked out the parity of good and evil in the inertia of the charge or matter in the quasi-basal-fundamental micro-world of which the geometric as well as the algebraic structures arise and in more than one way by complex and topological directions (as if gravity and twistor like ideas) at initial entropic states in a world much wider than Penrose's metaphor of God choosing a needle in a haystack.)

BalloonDroggle

BalloonDroggle L. Edgar Otto 11-03-10

... First a reply from Lubos and a further comment to him: On his article the nature of the supernatural.
http://motls.blogspot.com/2010/11/supernatural-and-lawless-dark-matter.html#more

Dear ThePeSla, thanks. First, concerning Kepler: I wanted to make a specific point about physics that was needed in the line of arguments - not to launch a serious of ad hominem appraisals of a particular physicist, namely Kepler. Could you please focus on the content instead of these distractions? Kepler has done important things - that he couldn't have done without Tycho Brahe, by the way - and he has also believed lots of nonsense. His life was not topic of the article, or the paragraph in the article, for that matter.

Second, I kind of misunderstand your analogy between God and neutralinos. Wink

Lubos, my apologies,

In history there are many cases where philosophers have missed each other's points. I was not suggesting you were rude to the memory of Kepler not was I defending or promoting him and I certainly did not mean to interfere with your excellent presentations. I am honored that you would even reply.

In fact this post of your inspired some rather deep reevaluations of some concepts and maybe one that was lost along the way, overlooked. Namely, that we should generalize this idea of holograms (you have an article on who lead to that theory in praise of his contribution) such that it considers things between dimensions.

My mentor, HSM Coxerter of Toronto has said that there is nothing mysterious about the fourth dimension. But many see even that low dimension as supernatural. With so many dimensions involved in group and string theories how can we feel at home with such thoughts when they may be used to support any other idea or theory among the unknown?

Why is there a lawful space even when if there is a lawless one? What is a Higgs that it cannot be seen on some level of acceleration? Why is its influence not totally silence if it exists?

Experiment and mathematics may be a good start to explain things but it just does not feel enough or we have enough of them. Is there hidden things that is our subconscious, but that is an old idea we so full of inhibitions- anyway something psychological more than physiological? In any case thank you again if for nothing else for insights inspiring my sober looks into what is perhaps still philosophy.

http://motls.blogspot.com/2010/11/delayed-choice-quantum-eraser.html#more

Matti Pitkanen
The first problem of Copenhagen interpretation is the wrong view about the relationship between subjective time and the geometric time. Also the view about what happens in quantum measurement based on hand waving with Uncertainty Principle is nonsense: the presence of macroscopic entanglement and its reduction in measurement with all its consequences must be accepted. Taking quantum theory as a mere collection of calculational rules means giving up just at the verge of revolution in the understanding of Nature.

The delayed choice experiment is consistent with the view that quantum states are superpositions of deterministic histories at the level of space-time geometry and topology (this means a direct connection with quantum gravitation among other things). State function reduction replaces this superposition with a new one. The non-determinism of quantum jump is not at the level of time evolution of Schroedinger equation because the entire time evolution is replaced with a new one. In this framework there is no need to give up the notion of objective reality: one only allows quantum superpositions of objective realities and the replacement of these with new ones in quantum jumps. Combined with what I call zero energy ontology (consistent with crossing symmetry), one ends up with rather fascinating vision: consider only technologies for editing of the geometric past.

Quantum biology and quantum consciousness provide especially interesting applications for the new view about quantum measurement. Libet's findings in neuroscience suggesting that the neural activity precedes conscious decision by a fraction of second, suggest that our intentional actions indeed involve the editing of geometric past at least in this time scale. But before all this is possible we must liberate us from the jail built by the names of past.

Lubos Motl
Matti, thanks for having provided us with an explicit example what I mean by the statement that "non-orthodox quantum mechanics" is almost always just "crackpot mechanics". Holy cow, so much total nonsense.

* * *

Matti- Again I ask if any sort of geometrical theory such as yours just because it may involve some area of interpretative consciousness as almost always crackpot mechanics? Then again the uncertainty principle if understood deeply and on all levels is certainly not nonsense. But geometric past does not seem to me an explicit concept! In fact Lubos shows by Feymann ideas on it more explicitly. OK guys play nice (if I wanted to see which PhD was to be called crackpot I would beg to go back to the sciencechatforum com. But come to think of it in what sense would something based on total uncertainty be a mechanics? Anyway my post today I am still considering as I type this is a sort of "non-orthodox teleology."

* * *

Non-Orthodox Teleology:

A further remark on the idea of the last posting- the mechanism suggested for the applied game of butter is a generalization of the idea of surface and volume differences in the holographic idea only between the various diffuse multi-dimensions. In that a word is a universe, in this sense between words or the logical space of words we have a multiverse- but I cannot assert that the universe is a word like this in a quasic space and that all things as one universe.

In my old terminology a troublesome continuum concept was the Celestic or Celestial continuum Cscm for those who may have followed my forum posts if they still exist. But with this mutterbutter space I roughly identify, by use of a movable null for some actual or abstract structure, the space of all simplexes abstractly in relation to the space of all orthogons (and antiorthogons and so on). For this seems to me explicitly where the difference of application of symmetry and symmetrai applies to various evolving (conceivably or abstractly devolving in direction at least) word and geometric structures. This may be too simple and idea for physics even if a good one for our linguistic and mind/brain evolution.

* * *

The metaphor for the Balloondroggle , a realm hopefully beyond "he said-she said" of some religious issue as words transcendent in a way I do not simply mean nor endorse the Worf-Safir hypothesis, is slowly rising balloons of which these words made from the quasic and other models of evolving language are rising and we swing from the strings of them as we at our core understand the evolving system of notions and words- the science and symbols of things. Despite changes in the totality or environs we can have an unfolding of transcendent ideas within even more transcending ideas (a sort of reversal of the three things Lubos mensions as that supernatural or super-physis... for Greek science is such analyses and awakening of bringing out what is hidden.

But is this grand project a cost override and waste of our time "boondoggle"? Mutterbutter

Mutterbutter

From my block game I called Butter, a geometric language theory in general with a fluid view of what we mean by dimension. Like the Horus eye there is always something left over by division by two- and yet the sum remains one. What is the analog to butter in four space I asked myself last night.

Here I use the analogs to pascals triangle and the butter block can be arranged into a large block or stick of butter and so on. Now, what did Matti mean by four space is fatter than three space? In the triangle of these golden powers we see the stacking of three of these forms in three stacks (thus three of the nine dimensions) and in four space there are six of these stacks on a tetrahedron that breaks down into two sets of three stacks.

As the representation is in the form of a simplex (triangle...) the higher dimensional structure reads all but one of any structure on an edge thus we can say tcubed tsquaredk tksquared and null or null and tsquaredk tksquared and kcubed.

The significant dimensions in four space along these lines (is the square of d) or 16 dimensions. But this can be seen as the add one or three plus one idea for in the irrational golden number we add one (be it a block of geometry, a number, or maybe some dark force concept of a constant.)

Now, this line of thinking came last night in thinking about language, linguistics, in general. The division into subunits can proceed subconsciously in the collective history of man or in an individual if he designs a language from scratch. His first attempt, like Sequoia by himself, was a symbol for each word and then as 2000 yrs ago a syllabary. The cvcvc form can be seen as one style of language of the several forms and moreover as the hidden variables on a deeper scale that determine the cycle or evolution of the phenemes and phonemes as those values shift- they may also shift because the general intellect of energy or frequency changes value over time- the will or shall (mayest) of purpose- sphere and plane of some symmetry such that intelligence and emotions evolve or increase in mammals over the millions of years. Symmetryai - that which has a center but mutterbutterly such a center could be as if a level or balance and not a circle or sphere although these are the same sorts of symmetry. (muddersmilk also a related concept as the quality of our intellect depends on "milk" and "milt".)

The center of such abstract dimensional simplexes (triangles) goes a long way to explaining nucleation in the world in a quasic manner (as well as for the totally of the division of such shell space and partons.

Not long ago many thought equations could not all be put into geometric pictures. In these times in the study of physics it seems to have become essential to do so.

Splitting the Infinitive is a matter of the rhythm of the flow of a language and not technically a sin of grammar- such is this geometric splitting of a nucleus.

Quasi-paradox in this malleable or plastic idea of dimensions is thus an "interpretivist" view of physics including quasi-probability and quasi-discreteness. To understand a theory we have an analog to the evolving of language and organisms where one must evolve in order to understand- including the developmental aspects his is native language and cultural resources.

Will or rest in the plus one idea is after all Newtonian inertia( where Eddington as old Plus One for his 137 in a sense is vindicated for this refinement because of the central left over piece in the above diagram just as we added the Lambda of Einstein, or mass added ad hoc to equations- for not all powers as square may reduce to a number plus one and remain a solid structure not reduced in natural dimensions or coherence between a structures elements.) This is somewhat a fractal or quasi fractal idea and yet in a higher space a dual triangle or tree space may not connect in the abstract space of the dimension yet does on the higher abstract dimension. The twin towers of three high rises each are a fluid tension and compression that may move in the various directions of symmetry and symmetryai (from Blake).

Not only do our perceptions and interpretation of space have to evolve first but we have to learn or evolve abstractly to do it.

Because of the inversion of the golden number the volume of the cuboid is equal to one. Beginning in four space we say that the golden number plus one as a fourth coordinate or vector is equal to the various planes that are squared- be they complex or Cartesian or quasic or even Euclidean and indefinite.

A little later after coffee: Note: Explain has Plane in it and part of what we do in physics and philosophy is to try to make sense of the infinite plane as well the spheres and ideas of will or purpose seemingly in it, and the breaking down and permutation of things in it. This I used from metaphors to our familiar metaphysics of religions. (and I have several chats concerning linguistics with Sultan Ratrout in which I explain a lot of the theories as I post them day to day which may help highlight some of the more esoteric passages in these ideas (they are really rather simple once mastered). In our discussions from a philosophy-linguistics-religious view and poetically we in things like fate and time great ideas come up on that acid test of philosophy- free will vs determinism. Oddly, some shared links in the physics and linguistics I have the uncanny ability to question there assertions as if they are a little lagging behind my private contemplations- and I do not mean just any posting on the net but some of what is accepted by the more highly regarded journals. Not that I have lost my humility, maybe for me that goes way to far- but that I expected so much more of those in the schools. The university hare has an on-line degree now- one can major for a "professional degree", well what is the point at my age? I mean they did not say if I could have an honorary degree based on my life as a "professional student" without the benefits of bus passes and binge drinking and football at homecoming!

One thing for sure I realize now I should have explored this arithmetic and geometry deeper and followed down certain paths of reason- but thinking of language developmentally helped- and the philosophy learned since I last made butter (wish I had access to my old puzzles I would post a pic) made me realize its value I could not see before- or as seems the case with most of us when we get an idea in the theoretical realm it can be so fundamental and striking we overestimate its value so do not go a little further to find the deeper jewels that we could have. This must be part of the process of thought, human thought anyway, and the quality of our research after all can go either way in the drama depending on not just how much we are aware of our emotions and the universe's actions and motivations- but that what works for some in some frame of culture, language, faith, stance to a philosophy of science, and so on may or may not be beneficial to this or that individual or group while is so for others.

This is at the heart of what we think are the quantum models of things, time and entropy in the moment, the question of infinite descent not terminating to some infinitesimal vanishing point in parts of physical and mental space...From my standpoint how that theory applies is intuitively a part of us even if it is not the final solution- There is nothing mysterious about the quantum theory other than that our experience of being in the universe, familiar or not to us, explained or not, remains a miracle.

I just posted this comment to Lubos"

"But if you invent e.g. a theory that will be able to revive Kepler's ideas that the planetary orbital radii are linked to the sides of Platonic polyhedra, good for you. If your hypothesis will be compatible with the other - directly or indirectly - observed facts about gravity and the birth of the Solar System, you will surely become very famous."

Lubos,

Kepler's was the first scientific cosmology in the sense it was falsifiable. Some of his ideas are used by NASA for satellite decay nodes and so on. I did not see him as mystical and are we to ignore the historical contributions of his laws on which Newton relied?

Kepler is not so much to be revived, and it has little to do with fame or brilliant rhetoric of which your posts are quite impressive! But it is the case (if we can not confuse super in supernatural or super-string theory) that he just did not know the four and more dimensional solids or that all three ways to view the extraordinary apply- and that your way of seeing our grounding in-determinism in probabilities applies as well like what may one day be a falsifiable theory. Are the moons of mars caught stray asteroids or some form of science intimate to the creation of the planet? We study abstract things and for me quantum theory is not counter intuitive (as in your next excellent post) but easier to understand as we come closer to understanding ourselves and the world.

If course we can see dark matter Neutrilinos or what ever as natural for if they are real, like God may be real (says Fred Hoyle) then He would be a (natural) part of Reality. But the idea of deep nothingness absolute or of a layer of reality of lawlessness can be an interesting part of any total picture of things.

We explore and test the "hypothesis" before a theory 101, and I agree Anthropocentric anything is not an adequate explanation as science. But in exPlain is the world Plane and that is precisely where our equations break down. In one of my models the idea of a zero approximation makes not sense because there is a fractal like descent that never reaches it and is quite normalized naturally.

I find it far better to explore the unknown and consider inputs than to expend too much energy in the ranting against what is suggested as if our agenda is a response only in reaction to another's agenda.

Deep down, if the lawlessness of nature is what you say and not ultimately as deterministic as relativity or some forms of quantum theory, it may just turn out that God may be a necessary hypothesis after all- which of course may come as quite a surprise.

Lubos,

One point I forgot to mention. Consider the Lick Observatory. The donor of the land and money for the project of the world's largest telescope of the time did not live to see it completed. The making of the glass from various firms in Europe took a long time with many broken. Now the trustees continued the project but they had no say so in who would be the astronomers to work and run the place. They tested the site for its stable view. Insisted the mechanisms had practical and simple buildings with the best clockwork mechanics. The result of this plan was that any particular astronomer and his project would have to make do with what was given to him in the machines and designs. Such is science, and such is the luck of it where the optical lens came soon because someone wanted to trade it for a photo lens.

Perhaps we can suggest that in some big projects into the unknown such as the LHC, we make do with what we are given risking some dream. Looking back we have to judge for ourselves if such projects were worth it for the benefit of science and mankind.

Mumblegrunt II (Qwa-si)

Mumblegrunt II L. Edgar Otto 11-01-10

The illustration above is a sketch of two syllables with different grid address notations to distinguish the order of each syllable. Each n-syllable is a quasic universe or pixel (plinthon) region in itself having depth and span and shadow structure. The distinguishing of syllable structure, its vowels and consonants has been suggested as a notation refinement in earlier posts.

Of course the resolution here of 64/256 is crude- we note where the symbols have the same addresses this does not detract from the uniqueness of reading- we note that even on this scale we can treat a written (and presumably and spoken symbol or notion) as if on a certain quason we write as we naturally do- including errors or mistakes of fixed writing. We have to center things but the center is not necessarily set as a standard, but this also reflects our various styles of alphabets and their combination and other refinements of calligraphy in the connotations. The individual address or coordinate we note does not have the problems of differences of ordering in the reading- its loops and what have you, as would the shifting of the generational (particle) coordinate permutations.

The Cambridge on line test I posted in the last blog I have thought a little more about as a linguistic tool. I am not sure it measures something like intelligence more than it measures somewhat the design and logic of the ground of our mental system, indeed questions afterward tell me it may measure the stamina of the moment.
But I find it a good tool because the various items for one to be tested on are geometric and really independent of any natural language. Perhaps it does cross cultural lines in some way, but ways that can be compared.

With such psychoanalytic test (and again I wonder at any program that suggest that psychoanalysis has been reduced totally to some physiology) I wonder at the true and hidden application of the data collected for us monkeys in the lab (they point out that the other primates can do some of these tasks rather better than we, but then the young chimp can walk sooner and some researchers say learn to speak sooner before the fall behind the humans). So the strength and significance of this sort of test which really is limited to the conditions of the moment (one can make less on such tests but not more, traditionally and it is a myth one cannot study for it).

From my quasic view I being aware of this test based on brain scans and language neutral puzzles I found a weakness- one of what assumptions we have for such tests which would say it an error to assume two planes intersect at a point, for example.
What this test measures (and suggests for measurement of other mind-brain phenomena such as autism) does not seem to be of our idea of intelligence- nor of multiple intelligence- nor of the state of mental development in and between species. It measures our core arrangement and interpretation of time and space, a thing that is at the core of our language including numbers and arises naturally in the engagement with our species and the environment. The test assumes many things about numbers and dimensions, some of which we have ill defined so far. In a sense then it measures the coherence of the brain and its units of inheritance provided the organism has learned to orient itself in relation to the world and has been taught a mechanism to do so- and into is physiology which in terms of intuition of space and calculation seem to be automatic as a subconscious idea of developing influences.

I suspect with a little training there will be needed a minimum time and understanding of how to proceed with such tests from a quasic view (those who cannot intuit this view would be in the probabilistic world at a disadvantage and where I have been outside, or anyone outside the standard views, I would be at a disadvantage.

Lately it is clear that on some level there can be too much coherence between the parts of the brain where the more successful are more diverse and even have intelligence in some areas as a non-savant sub-genius (if I can coin a phrase roughly opposite of the idiot savant). But how do we measure these n-philosophy viewpoints in a language efficiently intelligibly geometric and numeric with such a wide range of n-syllable structures where each syllable or combination is a universe?

I find it interesting that on this level of generalization there is a wider idea of what generations (particle-like) are in that once we have assigned symbols to a unit of speech or meaning we can generate a whole new but equally related body of symbols as if we had different Chinese letters but true to their functions and meaning. But these are not totally free in which to impose any arbitrary code for any goal of finding in the code a way to reach a desired meaning. We do not as a rule combine our symbols in ways much more complicated than that close to our existential evolving ground design of our language and its reasonable use of logic.

Does the design of such spaces have the ability then of emotions and intelligence? God must be more than a geometer or mathematician from this viewpoint and we seem to share in theory that attribute of creativity- our hearts and metaphors given a wide range or not to what some see as excess or some see as true but vague and limiting. If our inhibitions clear up mental conflict in psycho-dynamic theory does it do it in a way where we can regard the design of our mind/brains as greater than instinctive, intelligent, and intuitive in the forms we imagine them now to be?

Yet, if our inner workings are described so closely to the workings of the cosmos in general in the design of things, then why are we surprised if we project upon that design some sort of Being which could seem as intelligent as we are?
