New Architecture of the Soul
New Architecture of the Soul
L. Edgar Otto 06 March, 2012
It is said that the scientific part of a chess game is the end game. We know also from the first couple of hundred openings that those not familiar with them are at a disadvantage in intelligible play. But from the quasifinite view the middle game is the more scientific and place where human attributes are the central focus.
These then are questions of the nature of memory and consciousness as well of existence. It is also what I have generally considered as a concern the uniqueness in the universe of any particular subjective or objective phenomenon. A lot of the new physics deals with the abstract philosophy of the absolute, thus this aspect of what we think of as explaining the arrow of time, a positive result even in the face of mirror symmetry and balanced equations.
I know that such knowledge of the processes still not explored deeply enough inside us will not make me a better chess player for the flow of clock time is still a real part of our reality along with the timeless and organic level of the experience and reality of time, the 'wheneverness'. In a deep sense then more foundational than the ideas of just the multiverse or manyworlds- a unified concept of physics really, and the ever present questioning of no matter how we characterize the universe reflecting on it as existent over non-existence is the logic that can undermine any pretensions that at this level we can characterize the cosmos.
The realization of these intimate and obvious processes for a unique and sentient entity (that itself needing definition of the architecture involve of our psyches and soul and physics) is an open question usually put into the form of questions about memory as to if it makes us a better human - the best we can do it seems is to sugar coat the problems or do what we do with less philosophy or fears while our imperfections.
For to recall is in a sense to relive when the loops of memory reach into the past like a chess game once played we can overwrite and even erase the resistances to a wider choice of progress not falling into loops of contemplating our states of mind as if the past determines rigidly our future. In one sense these problems seem rigidly unique to a personality but in truth these seem the universal condition of man.
If we survive the trauma of reliving such memories for in the retrieval we are apt to loop through them again to find the place of origin with respect to linear time. (Being the reverse of such time is harder to access and is more complex as a relation rather than our focused one to one function and this condition is also observed in the heart of physics as cosmic process) The path of resetting our wounding s is part of the general states of emotion to which in the wider paths through the labyrinth of our layered and unique experiences the effort in retrieving memories and surviving them emotionally is greater than the conjugate laying down of memory as observed also in the energetic process in machines.
I am not presenting a pessimistic philosophy here, nor one that in the end proves a positive one. The road to heaven is paved with infant's skull say John Calvin - a pessimism that has seen to moderate in our consciences as to general election and predestination ideas. If the world as if a living thing had a personality it would be an optimistic one where in its paradoxes this may not necessarily be the case.
It is said that given wide enough scope that the possibilities of the chess game and moves are finite. The same with the intelligibility of our space and numbers in a quasifinite universe. So the question is still one of the nature of beginnings and ends to a game, of a maximum center of decisions in the middle game including looping where it is less obvious what is the effect of unexpected decisions.
For by the rules we can end the game after 50 moves all repeated or even a subtle difference in where the king can move in the castling as to changes to extend the game at the 49 move, a situation that can loop outwardly indefinitely. So the finite game is as limitless as the arrangement of possible particles in the universe and yet a no two snowflakes are alike in their eighty odd styles, the chess board in particular as eight by eight reflects both the linear laws and those that we imagine still sets the grounding of physics that corresponds to what our models of mathematics can tell us in the world that could see it as if nature so sees herself.
We are a little further along than the repeated paths of enlightenment or the certainty of possibilities of our position as one of or part of styles of living things. For in the end, beyond and not accepting that Zeno's puzzles are solved nor are they to be regarded as not also modern issues, in the quasifinite world of possible new and unexpected global transformations the uniqueness of this world and any such individual in it can have its free yet secure place in the future of its living.
This is not to say some things are so connected that we can resolve them into mere arrangements of so many atoms as if to count all the protons (as Eddington on the average who after all was describing part of an alternative theory as deep and bizarre as of Dirac's early works). This question of many world multiverse is a quasic one where even the machines can make original and fundamental decisions or that occurrence in one or the other views of order can persist as a world view only occasionally disturbed by the other.
To say the interesting thing that there are copies of ourselves in the multiverse so many atoms away or that in time our patterns will repeat again so in that sense a karmic prison yet a type of ego centered immortality does not hold in the general case of a dynamic and unique omnium or universe. This question also goes a little beyond the issues of the existential and the totality, the discernment of the unique in as the universal or local case.
There is satisfaction and sometimes wisdom in the search and in the application of new methods that seem for a time to be a living philosophy that will not loop into conflicts, contradiction, decay, or boring saturation by familiarity that we are no longer sensitive to in the drama of facing the opposites. But it is obvious that there has to be exceptions to this dialectical process in the middle game of moving time. It is as much a tightrope and a see saw to simulate and play the game without deep understanding of that between the tactics and the strategy. We are then blind to how we might try to live in better wisdom and not forbid it and how we might find a world where expression is optimistic and nothing forbidden by false intelligible systems, a world safe for inquiry.
Where perhaps our stance to our wounds of fate and memory are not healed by mere assertions outside our intrinsic moral like sense of things - a world moreover where an individual is a threat to the total collective yet the collective is not at war with and paranoid of the individual even before the fact of what is regarded as rights to his being or expectations. Like humor, the comedy and the tragedy of ourselves when we see the flow of time as epic the old way if not forgotten in the mass of change will lose its value, even affront us who cling to our first values. But if we do not see these dispassionately or how those in the previous states of mind and popularity of the hidden setting of agendas by the media, we will not get the joke nor will we understand those who see the world and life as if a joke.
For our reactions to the misfortunes of others, known- and there is something relevant about meeting those in our own time and proximity that seems to indicate a possibility of a relevant connection of paths and fate- defaults back to what the animist do in laughter as say a fellow hunter eaten by a crocodile, they laugh- and aware as our spiritual sense evolve they whistle in the dark at their new found wisdom of superstitious stances to fate.
There is always an academic question as if something like a new understanding if not architecture of our souls is possible. But in the middle game the human in us we know that next time may be different and it is our glory to try.
